Thank you so much - Brian - and others who provided information.
I installed XP SP 3, added the integration components. Created a legacy Network Adapter with my Virtual switch as the network.
I now am able to get network information from c:\ipconfig.
I can connect to our file system, and to the internet. Much appreciated!!
